“Greenhouse Without Gas” is a small, multifunctional pavilion for the Rucka Artist Residency in Cēsis which can be used as a greenhouse, little dining spot or outdoor cinema. In the framework of the Nordic Culture Point short-term network funding programme "Green Deal in Practice" project, participants from Denmark, Sweden and Latvia built the pavilion during a two-day workshop from reused materials. The majority of materials - the wooden laths and polycarbonate sheets - were used eight months before for the stage “Misijas'' for the RTU Science and Innovation Centre at the Lampa festival in Cēsis, which was especially designed for easy disassembly and maximum reusability. However, a few polycarbonate sheets had to be replaced due to damage during storage. The bricks for the foundation are leftovers from the renovation of the Rucka manor. The pavilion “Greenhouse Without Gas” is planned as a modular structure which can be disassembled in smaller sub-components to allow for future relocation, transport and repair.
