The aim of the project lies in the wish to wake up the interest in literature and reading as a leisure time activity. The synergy between leisure and education is created by combining an open library and a skatepark.
A spatial wooden trusswork forms a three-dimensional landscape where rooms, reading cells and books can be fit inside depending on the requirements. The bearing structure is strongly differentiated in many scales, so that it can act as furniture and building at the same time. The wooden structure is integrated in a solid base that is using the existing concrete constructions at Copa Cagrana in Vienna, Austria. They are developed further to make the space more attractive for skateboarders.
